Due to permit restrictions, the Grafton to Inverell race has a cut-off time of 5.10pm for all competitors which correlates to an average minimum speed of 24km/h. A Sag Wagon will travel behind the race at all times and has been instructed to reach key points on the course at set times. If a rider falls behind the wagon and is likely to remain there, the rider will be given the option of boarding the SAG or will be requested to hand over their transponder and number to the race official.
Stage presentations for media (including the awarding of classification jerseys) will be conducted within 15 minutes of the race finish adjacent to the finish line.
Prizes will be awarded for Overall, King/Queen of the Mountains, Sprint and Team Classifications for the PSL events. Prizes will be awarded for Overall, Age Categories, King of the Mountain, Sprint Classification and Teams Classification for the Open event.
There are three refreshment stations on the Grafton to Inverell course.
There is one neutral manned water station for the G2I located at the 70km mark (at the foot of the Gibraltar Range). Event volunteers will distribute water bottles for riders at this point.
There are two rider supported ‘feed stations’ located at the following points:
Rider supporters can hand out drinks and nutrition from the designated ‘Feed Zone’ only. Rider supporter vehicles must display the rider number sticker provided for their rider and proceed directly to the Mt Mitchell station from Grafton prior to 7am. Once they have serviced their rider at Mt Mitchell, they must proceed directly to the Glen Innes station following the vehicle deviation route indicated by pink arrows.
Riders who do not have a supporter to assist with feeding at the feed stations can arrange for their ‘feed bags’ to be delivered to the stations ahead of the race and event staff will assist with feeding. The feed bags must be clearly marked with the rider’s surname, race number, race category and relevant feed station location (e.g. Mt Mitchell or Glen Innes). The bags must be dropped off at the event registration desk no later than 6.45am on Saturday morning.
Roving motorbikes will be on the course to provide additional water between the foot of the Gibraltar Range and the Mt Mitchell station.
Friday 14 March, 2025 – 4:00pm – 5.30pm – Toast Espresso, Prince Street, Grafton.
